“Stand Against” is a sculpture of resilience, a testament to the courage to protest, to disrupt the silence, and to challenge the overwhelming tide of conformity. Its form, reminiscent of a flower in bloom, suggests life and growth, yet it is no ordinary blossom. Its intricate texture, made up of countless small, structured units of acorn shells, evokes a system that thrives on repetition, on the comfort of sameness. At the heart of this organized mass lies a bold rupture—a vibrant blue force spilling defiantly from a central void. This powerful surge of color stands in stark contrast to the rest of the sculpture, breaking through the rigid framework with a raw, unapologetic presence.

This blue core becomes the voice of dissent, the embodiment of a single cry against the crowd, of speaking out even when the world stands on the other side. It is a call to protest, to push back against systems that attempt to contain and homogenize. The sculpture’s very structure forces the viewer to confront the tension between unity and suppression, between a collective silence and the bravery required to disturb it.

“Stand Against” does not just celebrate the courage to speak out; it warns of the cost of silence, of allowing oneself to be absorbed into the monotonous rhythm of agreement. It reminds us that, though the choice to resist may be isolating, it is also powerful. The sculpture urges us to embrace that surge, that need to break free, and to find strength in standing alone, even as the world moves in the opposite direction. It challenges viewers to consider their own capacity to stand firm, to disrupt the patterns around them, and to become that vibrant voice that refuses to be silenced, no matter the opposition.
