Planet with time, planet with consume – My bottle, our creation – The Genesis of the easy way – Only now, only I

This sculpture, titled “Human Nature,” embodies the duality of creation and consumption, the paradox that lies at the heart of humanity’s relationship with the Earth. Shaped like a bottle, a symbol of convenience and disposability, it serves as a reminder of the “easy way” — the path we have chosen to tread, where comfort and consumption are prioritized over preservation and foresight. Each scale-like texture on its surface suggests layers of impact, the accumulated cost of choices made for today with little regard for tomorrow.

“Human Nature” reflects the tension between personal gain and collective consequence. “My bottle, our creation” speaks to the idea that every single act of consumption, each decision to take the easy route, contributes to a larger whole — a legacy we share, whether we realize it or not. It is the Genesis of convenience, the birth of practices that serve immediate desires but leave lasting imprints on the planet.

The juxtaposition of the bottle with the block it rests upon, reminiscent of time ticking away, hints at urgency. The planet with time, yet a planet consumed, reminds us that our actions are bound to time’s relentless flow. With each decision driven by “only now, only I,” we shape a future defined by depletion, a testament to our collective choices. “Human Nature” asks us to reflect on what legacy we are building and challenges us to consider if we can shift from “only now” to a more sustainable path for the future.
